The new TGN DSP3 is a stand-alone video standard converter that converts video signals from any TV system in the world: every NTSC, every PAL and every SECAM signal in a fully compliant PAL-or NTSC signal or vice- versa. 

The actual video processing is done digitally ( CCIR-656 video format). The original video resolution (input or output) is maintained through the system. DSP-3 is mainly intended as a standard converter for cable distribution systems or for professional videotape translations. The DSP3 Video Processor delivers high-quality converted pictures, exceptional super-stable synchronism and superior color separation. Ideal for tape conversions, DVD players, digital camcorders, video editing & capture, and multiple multi system and multimedia applications. Global automatic system detection automatically selects the input TV system. Manual selection assures input detection even with B&W or poor quality video signals. All output signals are time base corrected.

Most common applications
Tape conversion for business and education. International travel and relocation: to use your video equipment while traveling or relocating to a country using a different TV system. To install on ships, planes, and for many industrial, commercial and business applications. The standard conversion makes this processor interesting for cable networks. Then the participants can receive different standard signals on a normal (single norm) PAL or NTSC TV set. The transmission standard can be set, fixed or switched automatically. The selected input and output mode is displayed by LEDs. The unit is capable of auto detecting 50 or 60 Hz fields and switch the input standard automatically. The DSP3 itself can generate a colour bar in absence of an input signal. The video input gain is automatically adjusted to optimum level. All user-set data is stored in a non-volatile memory and automatically executed after power on. The factory settings can be recalled; this will undo all manual changes entered by the user.

Modular construction    
The DSP3 is built into a rugged but appealing 19" industrial housing. The unit is constructed as a modular system. This technique allows easy access for maintenance or field upgrades. All printed circuit boards are high quality dual layer or multilayer boards. The module connectors are gold plated to ensure a long lasting error free operation.

Watch-Dog-circuit
The Microprocessor has an independent monitoring circuit that guards normal operation of the system. The Watchdog circuit makes the DSP3 ideally suited for unattended use, commonly found in cable distribution systems.
